Maybelline Color Elixir in Celestial Coral Review

Maybelline is one brand that always come up with great stuff and the quality as well as the price are great too.  Maybelline recently launched Color Elixir in India.  And I have been on lookout to try some of these.  So Recently I picked one of the shade called Celestial coral.  Read on to know my opinion.

Shade:-Celestial Coral is pinky coral shade with warm undertones. There is no shimmer in these gloss and its definitely great shade for those who love peaches and pinks. There are 13 shades available in the market.

Packaging:-  It looks like lipstick, but its a lip gloss.  Like any lip gloss  it has the opening at the top and you twist the cap and you get the applicator.  It is a see through rectangle tube and you can easily locate it from your stash.  The packaging is very travel friendly and  I must say I love the packaging.

Applicator:-  It has one of the unique applicator that I have seen available in the market in terms of shape but the applicator does apply the gloss uniformly and evenly.  You always end up with streaks on the lips.

Texture:-  As Maybelline says these are lipcolor with concentrated lip balm, these indeed feels lipbalm, you get the same kind of softness and smoothness on lips like any lip balm.  But It has quite thick texture but there is no stickness to it.  You can really feel the thickness of the lip gloss on the lips.Those who have dry lips will love it.

Pigmentation:-  I have picked up the shade Celestial Coral and the shade is quite opaque.  My lips looks glossy but there is less color if worn alone.  You need minimum 2-3 coats to see some color.

Smell:-  It has some vanilla scent to it nothing overpowering but if you have a habit of licking your lips, it does not taste good personally to me.

Wear Time:-  These lip glosses wear for 3-4 hrs with mild snacking in between after that it starts disappearing.  

Compared to Maybelline colorsensational Lip Glosses:-  I have noticed that these work better with lipsticks on top rather than stand alone, may be due to their opaque nature.  If I will compare these to Maybelline colorsensational Lip Gloss which I love, these are less pigmented than those and Colorsensational works better on me.

Thumbs Up:-
1.  Huge shade selection.
2.  The texture is soft and creamy, girls with dry lips will love it.
3.  Decent staying power of 4- hrs.
4.  Travel friendly.
5.  Contains no shimmer.

Thumbs Down:-
1.  Slight thick texture.
2.  Less pigmented than Colorsensational lip gloss from Maybelline.

Overall,  I like these lipglosses but there are better lipgloss available in the market.  Infact Maybelline Colorsensational Lipglosses are better than these.  People with dry lips are going to love these.  I would not be picking more shades from this line.
