Lush Mask of Magnamity Face and Back Mask

I have been using lot of face masks lately and on my recent visit to lush I picked up Mask of Magnamity the much talked about facemask from Lush.  I always wanted to pick this up but somehow I always forgot about it so finally I got this and I have been using this for a month now and I thought this is right time to share my thoughts on this.

Claims:-
China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation. We add loads of aduki beans to exfoliate flaky or dry skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe. Our inventors created Mask of Magnaminty to be the ‘ultimate face mask’,

Price:-$12.95- $24.95 depending upon the quantity.

Ingredients:- Bentonite Gel, Kaolin, Honey, Talc, ground Aduki Beans, Evening Primrose Seeds, Peppermint oil, African Marigold Oill, Vanilla Absolute, Limonene, Perfume, Chlorophyll, Methylparaben.

My Experience:- Now that summers are here, my skin has become super oily and acne prone.  Every summer I always look for products that can calm my skin and can help me in keeping my skin clean, so when I went to the store to buy some of the Lush products I saw this and I was just looking at the ingredients and I saw peppermint and kaolin which are really good for oily acne prone skin, so without any second thought I got this.

The packaging of the product is typical matte black tub packaging with a screw cap on the top.  I always like to buy lush products in smaller size because of the small shelf life they have.  Surprisingly this face mask has shelf life of 4 months and you don't need to keep this in fridge unlike other lush face mask.  The moment you open the tub you can smell a strong scent of peppermint oil in it.  It looks like pista ice cream in the tub and the consistency is creamy and it has small granules in it which works great but does not feel abrasive on skin.  This is a facemask cum scrub kind of product you can apply it as a face mask and once it dries you can use it as a scrub by spraying some water on your face.  Regarding the efficacy of the product this product definitely gives a squeaky clean feeling, and you feel slight tingling sensation on the skin when you apply it nothing too much.  It dries very fast and the results are amazing too post usage.  The frequency of my breakouts have decreased noticeably.  I apply this face mask every alternate day before bed time and follow with my normal Toner and Moisturiser routine and it works really well.  Next morning my face looks clean and fresh which is the only requirement for me.

Is it meant for you?
If you have acne prone skin definitely go for it.  One of the best product for people with acne.

Thumbs Up:-
1.  Great for acne prone skin.
2.  Gives cooling sensation on application.
3.  Some of the natural ingredients which are good for skin.
4.  Peppermint and kaolin are active ingredients which helps soothe the skin.
5.  Squeaky clean face after usage.
6.  Less breakouts.

Thumbs Down:-
1.  Tub packaging ( not a cons for me though now because most of the facemask comes in tub packaging these days )

2.  Less shelf life I mean only for 4 months so I would suggest to always buy smaller tub.

Overall,  I totally LOVE this product and I would definitely recommend it to everyone with acne prone skin.

Lush The Hair Doctor Review

I stay in the kind of climate where its been cold for the last 7 months or so and it has definitely affected the condition of my hair, my hairs have become so frizzy and dry that no matter what I do the frizz is always there.  Also because of the cold weather I have been dealing with dandruff for such a long time and because of that I have so much hair loss.  So I saw this product on the Lush and I got attracted to it, I have finished the whole tub and I think this is the right time to share my thoughts on The Hair Doctor.

Claims:-  Hair Doctor is our deep-cleansing herbal hair treatment that specializes in soothing troubled scalps and nursing hair back to health. Bursting with fresh peppermint oil, Hair Doctor treats the scalp to a tingly, revitalizing sensation as the deep-cleansing fuller’s earth gets to work lifting oils and buildup from the hair and scalp. We mix in super hydrating coconut oil and sweet almond oil to soften hair, and voila…You’re left with a beautifully shiny, voluminous mane.

Price:- $15.95 for 3.5 oz

Ingredients:-  Water, Irish Moss Powder, Fuller Earth, Cetearyl alcohol,  Fragrance, Irish Moss Decoction, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Cold Pressed Organic Jojoba Oil, almond Oil, Peppermint Oil, Rosemary Absolute, Chamomile Blue Oil, Soya Lecithin, Glycerin, Yeast, Red Heena, Lanolin, Propylene Glycol,  Glycerl Stearate & Peg -100 Stearate.

How to Use:-  Smother your dry hair and scalp with Hair Doctor, massaging gently. Let it work its magic for about 20 minutes, then shampoo out to reveal lustrous locks and a happy scalp. Use 1-2 times per week as required (or desired!)
Hair Doctor is preservative-free! Make sure you keep your pot in the refrigerator and check the best before date before using.
My Experience:-  The Hair Doctor Mask comes in a typical black Lush tub packaging with a screw cap on the top.  It is an anti dandruff hair mask which helps in cleaning the scalp.  It is a fresh hair mask so like the Lush fresh face masks you have to keep it in fridge and the expiry date of the product is 15 days so you have to use up the product during this time span.  I like to mix the product with water to achieve the desired consistency and then I massage it on my scalp and hairs.  I like to leave the hair mask for 15-20 minutes and then I wash it off following with my shampoo.  I used to skip the conditioner earlier but because I have very dry and frizzy hair I always use a conditioner afterwards.  I feel this hair mask is not effective in providing the softness and controlling frizz.  It just helps with dandruff and on that note this is one of the best product I used for the dandruff.  Try to keep the hair mask out prior use else you might catch cold.  Once you put the hair mask on the scalp you can feel the strong peppermint scent and slight tingling sensation.  Peppermint is really good for itchy and dry scalp so this ingredient makes this hair mask very effective.
Thumbs Up:-
1.  Gives squeaky clean feeling after use.
2.  Free of preservatives and chemicals.
3.  Peppermint helps with itchy scalp and dandruff.
4.  Helps in removing dry flakes and helps controlling dandruff.
5.  One of the best product for dandruff.
6.  Fuller earth helps in controlling oil and cleans the scalp.
7.  Benefits of almond oil, coconut oil and jojoba oil.
Thumbs Down:-
The shelf life is just 15 days which is very less considering the price tag.
2.  Doesnot help in controlling frizz and softening the hair.
Overall, If you are some one who has been dealing from dandruff this is the best product but if you want to control frizz and softness this doesnot help me with that.  For the dandruff part this is the BEST product available in the market.  I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow Review, Swatches and FOTD!

Revlon is my favorite drugstore brand, they always come up with amazing products.  They have recently launched some new products, and one of my recent buy was Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow.  I found this in Walgreens during one of my visit. When I saw these first they remind me of Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick so I grabbed one of the Highlighting Palette I have been using these for quite a while now and now I am ready to give my thoughts on these.

FOTD : Purple Fever

Its been long since I did any makeup look, I wanted to see how Purple eye will look against my skin tone but i didn't want to try Black as that looks too dramatic.  So I tried this look to see how it looks.  I also got Revlon Shimmer Brick recently and wanted to see how the shades look.  So this is basically a combined look Purple with Hint of pink.
